Achter het nummer
A Double Dose of Love werd geschreven als verjaardagscadeau voor Groovella's tweelingdochters Emma en Lucy. Het nummer begon als een eenvoudige akoestische gitaarmelodie tijdens een familiebijeenkomst, voordat het uitgroeide tot een studioproductie — en tot iets onverwachts: Groovella's meest rock-georiënteerde track, een opbeurend, Beatles-geïnspireerd lied met een melodie die rechtstreeks uit de jaren 60 of 70 lijkt te komen, heerlijk uit de tijd. Knallende drums, handclaps, maraca's en tamboerijn drijven een feestelijke, vrolijke sfeer; jazz werd even tussen haakjes gezet, al was het nooit ver weg. De tekst viert de dubbele dosis liefde die met hun geboorte kwam — dubbel lachen, dubbel licht — in een nummer gemaakt om de hele kamer te laten glimlachen.
Het nummer heeft een feestelijk rock-achtig eerbetoon aan tweelingdochters Emma en Lucy met 60s-vreugde-sfeer en combineert Jazz-pop-elementen met Groovella's kenmerkende retro-moderne productie.
