Behind the Song
Shine Your Light was conceived as an empowerment anthem after the artist read a fan message about overcoming self-doubt. The slap bass line that drives the track was recorded using a vintage Music Man StingRay through a tube amp — the first take ended up on the final recording. The horn section was arranged by a friend who had previously worked with Tower of Power, giving the track its authentic funk credentials. The lyrics were deliberately written in second person ('You shine your light') to create a direct, personal connection with each listener.
The track has a empowering self-confidence anthem with fireworks energy vibe, blending Jazz-pop elements with Groovella's signature retro-modern production style.
