Lyrics

Lights are dimming, take your seat Velvet curtains start to meet Spotlight spinning, hearts awake Tonight the world is ours to take Brass is calling, drums ignite Every shadow turns to light Step inside this golden room Where every dream can start to bloom Set the scene, let the magic rise Paint the night across the skies Feel the rhythm, feel the glow This is where the story goes Raise your glass, the show begins Let the cabaret pull you in Every heartbeat finds its cue Welcome to the cosmic view

Behind the Song

Set The Scene was the first track written when Groovella imagined Cosmic Cabaret as a full musical revue rather than a collection of singles. The opening fanfare was inspired by Broadway overtures and vintage Parisian cabaret house bands — a brass stab and a walking bassline that says 'the show is about to begin.' The Rhodes chords were recorded through a tape saturator to give the track a warm, nostalgic glow. It was mixed last, after every other song was finished, so the artist could weave subtle melodic hints from across the album into the arrangement.

The track has a theatrical jazz-pop opener setting the stage for a dazzling cabaret revue vibe, blending Jazz-pop elements with Groovella's signature retro-modern production style.
