Lyrics

Met you on a rooftop high City humming lullaby Eiffel glowing in the blue Every star was pointing to you Saxophone across the breeze Dancing slow between the trees Your hand found mine without a word Like a melody I'd always heard Rooftop rendezvous tonight Moon above and wine so light Whisper secrets, steal a kiss Nothing in the world like this Paris breathing soft and slow Every moment makes us glow Hold me close until the dawn When the night is almost gone We'll meet again upon this view Every summer, me and you

Behind the Song

Rooftop Rendezvous was written after a real evening spent on a friend's terrace in Montmartre, watching the city shimmer below. The nylon-string guitar part was recorded in one take on a vintage Gibson, mic'd close to capture every finger squeak and breath. Groovella wanted the track to feel like overhearing a conversation between two lovers and a jazz trio — intimate, unhurried, slightly tipsy. The brushed snare pattern was borrowed from classic French chanson records, then given a modern pop sheen with layered vocal harmonies in the chorus.

The track has a romantic Paris rooftop jazz under a starlit summer sky vibe, blending Jazz-pop elements with Groovella's signature retro-modern production style.
