Behind the Song

Good Time Comin' was the first track completed for the Cosmic Cabaret album and set the sonic direction for the entire project. The bassline was inspired by classic funk records from the 1970s, specifically the work of Larry Graham. The track was initially intended as an instrumental jam but Groovella added vocals after realizing the groove demanded a lyrical counterpart. The celebratory horn stabs were added during a late-night mixing session and became the track's most recognizable element. The B-Side version explores a more extended arrangement with additional instrumental solos.

The track has a carefree funk groove about letting go and enjoying the moment vibe, blending Nu-Funk elements with Groovella's signature retro-modern production style.
